How much boost pressure are you guys running through your stock Intercoolers before exploding them?

the cast end tank ones (early 99) will take quiet a bit more than the later plastic end tank ones (later 7.3's and the 6.0's).... i know of one 6.0 (plastic tank cooler) that popped one at 57psi....

How efficent are these intercoolers? Are the aftermarket intercoolers a good option with these trucks?

I know Greg (Dockboy) was running a stock IC up in that range with metal end tanks...

There ok, I am sure my boost would go down quite a bit with a better IC, as well as my EGT's, but I just cant get a new one right now.

Bobby, I've got a LBZ intercooler that we might be able to work somthing out on if you want it! I dont think It'll handle 60lbs tho

Joe,
I know years ago that the only aftermarket intercooler for the powerstrokes was a banks, I've never really looked that much into it. Are there better aftermarket options now? I wonder if any of them have released any real world numbers on the flow?

I've always worried about pushing intercoolers, We dont REALLY know what the efficency of the factory units are, we know at around what level we can see improvement from an intercooler, but are the aftermarket intercoolers a decent investment flow wise?
