Default Probably a dumb TS chip question

I've read about these chips all over the place and some say you have to pay for tunes.
now my question is If i buy a 6 position chip for my truck for $300ish can i just plug it in and go
or do i have to buy the chip then buy a tune for each setting?
i have 1999.5 7.3 with an afe intake and 4" turbo back straight pipe stock turbo

That all depends on where you buy... Most places sell the TS for 250 then something like 25 per tune. So 150 for tunes and 250 for chip puts you at 400. look at Dp_Tun er and be prepared to **** yourself at the cost...

if you buy a blank chip you have to buy tunes for it. but if you buy a chip tuned by TS for your pickup you dont have to pay for new tunes. most places dont sell blank chips

Sick of me saying things I don't know? Most places do not sell blank chips, unless it is stated like that they have tunes on them.

The shop wiki is a listing of 18 sites that sale a blank chip...
