Up Exhaust system

I'm new to site and sure this has been asked before. What's a good exhaust system for a 2001 7.3 powerstroke for a towing app. I have a superchip programable. Also a air filter system also. Thanks

Welcome to the site. Any brand 4" mendrel bent exhaust kit will work and certainly boost performance as well as bring down EGTs. It all comes down to how much you want to spend. Aluminized steel exhaust kits work well and are rather affordable. Stainless does the same thing but is higher priced. Most all kits give an option of including a muffler or not (straight pipe kit). Straight pipe kit really gives the 7.3 a nice rumble, and its not obnoxiously loud. Ive had really good luck with Afe. When I had my 6.0 PSD, I bought an Afe aluminized straight pipe kit for $265 bucks, shipped. Shopped Ebay for it. Took about 2 hours total time to remove the original exhaust and install the new one. There are vendors on this site. Check 'em out and get a quote. Hope this helps.

I just put an MBRP 4" straight pipe on my 02'
Made a surprising difference in power and I suspect a difference in mileage for the better.

That is a given. couple that with a good intake and a good programmer, you can gain up to 3 mpg. Conservative driving also helps. BTW welcome to the site.

Thanks for the welcome. Yeah, unfortunately "conservative" isn't in my driving vocabulary
