DIY Map Fooler

DIY Map Fooler
Ok if your running a chip and exceeding your maximum boost allowed for your truck. I bet your check engine light comes on ever so often. Usually when it does it is from the map sensor. I bet when you let off and drive easy for a couple miles the light goes back off on its own too. Well then you need a map fooler.
This is what you need Air Pressure Regulator. Home depot sells them cost is 12 bucks. Then you need 4 hose clamps for 3/8 inch hose. You need two burr hose connectors to put on the regulator. Ok now what you do is set the regulator for 20psi. I used my air compressor for this. Then what you do is locate the Map sensor line which is a black rubber hose going to the map sensor. You can either cut that hose or you can get a short section of Pressure hose from the local parts store. Then you install the pressure regulator inline. Then your map sensor will no longer trip the pcm and cause a check engine light to come on. I been running like this for about 4 months with no problems.
