Ever heard of a $10,000 fine for a dpf delete? I am far from a pretty boy and tree hugger but I know how to use my head. Its people like you who have got all the real tree huggers scared of diesel and now we have things like egr, dpf and urea. Thank you

because i dont feel the need to be obnoxious all the time. i'm fully aware of the environmental effects. i dont like a ton of black smoke for the same reason i dont like 25 inch chrome rims. i think it looks gay. and diesels are not made for country boys. diesels are made for towing/hauling and being reliable, strong, durable, powerful and just to get the job done. not for people like you to go ooooooo look at my smoke. i'm done here. you're a waste of my time. go buy a civic.

its pecker heads like you gettin electric cars popular. wooooo go green, ****! ever heard of a dpf delete DA? you think of diesels and you think of black smoke and torque. haha yall crack me up thinkin diesels should be "smoke-free", haha smoke free diesel is a stock diesel. yall would hate to come out to my neck of the woods
Well first I'd just like to add that I dont foresee you staying around here long... there are some EXTREMELY knowledgeable people on this forum, of which you have already insulted, and I dont foresee your poor demeanor surviving long here.

Nobody said ANYTHING about smoke being bad for the environment. A 215hp truck that smokes like a freight train is embarrassing, not cool. Put some power under the hood then worry about some smoke. Hell my Volkswagen smokes like a freight train when I'm getting on it.. but it's also pushing some power.

But a true north Carolina country boy would never drive a civic.

You should research before you come on here. There my not be testing in your state but emissions systems are federally mandated so yes you can get a fine.

Relax... You hit a very key word for some people in the performance Diesel world.

You need to do a little reading on your "opinion" of diesel smoke...

Safety and Health Topics: Diesel Exhaust

Diesel Exhaust does not fall to the ground as you seem to think.

Smoke has taken us from the 7.3, to the 6.0 to the 6.4 with DPF and a 65k price tag...

Stick around, read some and understand that no one, from the prius driver to the F-350 driver wants to smoke anymore... Here is a little letter from Edge that just came out...

Edge Products and Superchips have been, and continue to be, proud supporters of competitive diesel motorsports across the United States and Canada. We proudly support and sponsor organizations such as NHRDA and NADM that promote legal racing and diesel competition in cities and towns all across North America. Despite our continued support of diesel motorsports, we have made the strategic decision to discontinue our Edge Racing and Superchips Racing products effective immediately. We will not accept new orders for Edge and Superchips Racing products as of July 12, 2011.

Edge Products and Superchips will no longer offer for sale Edge Racing and Superchips Racing-branded diesel, tuning products in the United States. Unfortunately, we believe a portion of dealers and consumers are exploiting the intended use of these products which has a negative impact on the future of this industry.

Prior to launching the Edge Racing and Superchips Racing brands, we undertook numerous preventive measures to ensure all dealers and consumers clearly understood the intended use of these products. In spite of our best efforts, we have concluded that these policies are not adequate to assure abuse is prevented. We have performed an exhaustive review of these measures, including numerous conversations with regulatory agencies such as EPA and CARB, in order to try to devise an effective way whereby we can assure ‘Racing’ products are used as intended. Based on our review, at this time, we do not believe there are adequate prevention measures available to the industry which provide those assurances.

We strongly encourage, for the long-term health of our industry, that all distributors, dealers and consumers of these or similar products made by other companies cease selling any electronic tuning product that contains the ability to disable any emissions system for late-model diesel trucks including (but not limited to) the DPF system, EGR system and Urea (exhaust fluid) injection. Per federal and state regulations, any registered vehicle is required to maintain its emissions systems unless it is used strictly and solely for racing. Unfortunately, even with the exhaustive, preventive measures we have taken, we do not feel it is possible to completely prevent abuse.

We have strong reason to believe all companies that continue to engage in the business of manufacturing, distributing, or selling these kinds of products in the United States will be subject to enforcement action from both the United States EPA and the California Air Resources Board. In the future, if we are able to devise a way to prevent abuse, we hope to re-establish the Edge Racing and Superchips Racing brands.

Below is a list/table that constitutes all Edge and Superchips Racing part numbers that will be immediately discontinued. The table below also identifies the appropriate street-legal replacement part number for the same application. All listed replacement parts can be found on the CARB Products in Progress list and either have been or will be tested for legal street use in the United States. If you have any questions, or would like to discuss this matter further, please do not hesitate to contact us. Our contact information is included below for your convenience.

Dually you are sure in for a surprise when you leave the double wide, smoke is for racing and competing.. driving around town is not a competition for who has the most smoke, its for who has a nicer truck right??? so why waste your time trying to blow smoke and agrivate people around you just so you can try and look cool... its people like you who are giving the ENTIRE diesel community a bad name.. you need to take a look around and see what you are doing then come back to use and ask the right questions..
