Why does my OBS start better in 27* weather than my NBS did in 50* weather??
My OBS started this morning in 25* cold, easier than ANY of my other diesels EVER have... my TDI was the best starting cold-starter I've ever seen until I got this OBS... what gives? My NBS would be cranky with anything under 50*... and nearly ALWAYS needed the GP's cycled. With my new OBS, the GP's only need to be cycled once for the first cold-start, and the rest of the day they are optional.
What the?!

The thing that kills me is, my VW diesel is the easiest starting cold-weather diesel i've ever seen in my life, and powerstrokes are notorious for being hard-starters due to being HEUI injection, so they dont like the cold.
This morning it was about 10*f out, and my psd started prettttty easy with 1 gp cycle. My vw took 1 gp cycle, and I had to crank for nearly 15seconds, while applying throttle!

Only hard starters if you don't replace the glow plugs and relay and your starter isn't up to the job... Or your HPOP is worn to where you can't get the oil pressure you need to fire the injectors... Or your fuel pressure isn't up to par... Or your injector O-rings are failing...
See where I'm going with this?
