Default stock '97 auto vs stock '99.5 6spd??

It seems like my auto '97 is just as fast as my '99.5 6spd was when stock... is this possible? Maybe it just seems that way cuz the '97 is an auto and shifts fast... but it sure seems like my '97 and '99.5 are pretty damn close speed-wise

Unless you can shift faster than the auto, it will be faster... It's lighter and can shift faster without losing boost.

So even with the hp/tq difference between the auto '97 and 6spd '99.5, you still think that the auto '97 will beat out the '99.5 stock vs stock?

You're talking about like 30hp difference, stock for stock. And a heavier SD vs a lighter OBS...

But there is like a 60 lb/tq difference? I thought that OBS were lighter than SD's but wasnt sure. So you think that the weight savings of the OBS over the SD will be enough to keep it ahead, mod for mod?

I think Stock for stock with the transmission difference, you will run the SD with the automcatic OBS.

Put a chip on each truck and the SD will own. Put stage 1's in the OBS and the OBS will own.
