shame the pics in the detailed posts are NLA.. :(

I need to learn more of the fuel plate and AFC arm tweaking.. I've done the 3K GSK this past weekend, the starwheel is all the way (i think) forward, and my #10 plate will be here this week..

my poor auto trans doesn't see it coming. still minimal smoke - only an instant puff at the time i touch the throttle...

and my wastegate hose is pinched off, but still only get 20-21psi.

when you get your fuel plate, push it all the way forward, and then come back just a tad so the afc will fit back on top. bring your star wheel back about half way, and then go get your timing bumped. all in all only about 150 bucks, and it should smoke a little more but manly you'll see the noticable difference in power. :U: i was only seeing 20 psi boost, now i'm seeing almost 30 after my new fuel plate. was running so much better until i blew the injection pump :argh: that seems to have been my fault tho and no issue with the upgrades, just misplaced socket :ouch:

downeybm1 on top of the afc housing is an 8mm allen plug take it out DONT LOOSE THE WASHER! the you will see the star wheel.....turn it towards the radiator for more low end power and more smoke back for less and more on top.....now that we have got that out of the way be sure to read this entire thread more smoke doesnt mean more power that is just unburned fuel....make sure you have gauges before you start...i you want power and a little smoke.....remove the entire air box go to advance auto or auto zone and get a universal dry air filter...take the afc housing off slid the plate all the way forward the back just a hair...put afc back on and slid all the way forward the take the plug out and adjust as needed.....staight pipe is next! i have all this done to mine and little more and no problems i transport boats all over the us and have trasported a 32' long 11' wide vesle that weighed almost 16k dry without trailer and still ran 65-70 mph with no problems at all and i have 231k on my truck!...........got a love a cummins!!:jump:
