Default Oil leak

I have a 1992 F-350 7.3 liter that has not been on the road for 8 years. We have finally got it on the road and have developed a pretty bad oil leak. Looks as if it is coming from the area of the sending unit but can,t see for sure. Is there anything else in this area that could be leaking oil. Oil pressure is good.

Where are you seeing the oil coming from? If you see it coming from the area close to the starter, it may be following the drain from the valley pan on top. I would suggest checking the CDR tube that goes into the vallaey pan behind the air intake. That peice of hose could have rotten off.

If your seeing oil drain down on the drivers side at the back of the engine near the head, that will be the valley pan. It only seals with RV sealant. Sorry to say the only way to fix that is to remove the Ip, intake and then the valley pan and replace with a new one 9valley pan). If this is the problem make sure you mark where your IP located by making a mark on the Ip mounting surface. Use the Black RV Sealant.
