Default Thrush Mufflers

Just bought a cheap 20 dollar thrush turbo muffler to put on the 6.9L. It's not a glass pack, it actually probably for gas engines. Will the side-center, inlet-outlet be a problem with a diesel? On past gasoline trucks I used these mufflers and never had a problem. I am just a little concerned about installing this one because all of the diesel muffler's I see are straight thru.
