cold air

i used to have a 92 7.3 idi.. and i built my own intake kit using the stock air filter assembly. first i went to the jusnk yard and found another housing. if you look at the housing you can see where the hose wraps around the steel lip on the main housing, i simply cut that lip off of the junkyard filter assembly. next i put the steel lip on the passenger side of the housing thats still on the truck and traced it using a red marker, then i cut out the hole. using a 120 volt mig welder i attached the steel lip. then i routed the hose down torwards the passenger side of the radiator and Voila! custom intake! let me know if you have any questions.. im not very good at typing these instructions. but you can call anytime if you need to know more.. josh 541-231-1199

Check at O'Reilly's auto I know that from normal gas carb engines they have a deal called Modular Air Intake Systems made by Specter Air. i had one on my 92 dodge dakota that had the 318 V8 in it and i loved it its a box deal that bolts on like your original air box for your filter and it then has a single or double tube (i had the double one on each side) that shoots out to the side of the engine facing the grill and you mount a normal cold air filter on the ends. not sure if they would work for this but im gonna be looking into it being im a new 7.3 IDI owner ill let ya know
