I finally was able to do my egr/dpf deletes this weekend by myself with nothing but help from the forum and instructions that came with the parts. This is also my first diesel truck.

Question 1 What important levels to i need to moniter on mini-maxx?

Question 2 What should I look at doing next so any of these upgrades will not harm other stock parts if you just wanted the truck to run good...not intending to race hondas.

Thats it for now! Thanks

Keep Mini Max on HOT, I get better mileage on HOT, your running just about the same package as myself and ALOT of others, very solid set up, keep your oil and filters changed, I switched to Amsoil and noticed a little more performance, i've never updated my H&S but here that people are not happy with the updates, leave it alone, as far as watching stuff, you really shouldnt have to monitor EGT or boost unless your just crazy, I was told keep my EGT under 1600, and boost under 36, those are max numbers and should never be kept that high with your stock engine and head.

You're off to a great start and you've just made your truck 10x more dependable. That being said it is possible to tear stuff up when you add power. As far as the levels you need to monitor, boost, EGTs, and trans temp are the main ones. Also, ALWAYS let your truck warm up before driving it and let the EGTs cool down before shutting it off. Mine I don't push mine over 1500 rpms until the eng temp make 140* also I don't shut it off until the EGTs get below 390* this is to save your head gasket which is notoriously weak on the 6.7 I try to keep my EGTs below 1450 and if they ever go above its never for more than a few seconds. The Vgt turbo in these trucks overspend at 36psi although I've know people that have put way more than that through them and been fine, and I know people that have blown them not running them hard at all. Another thing you need to keep an eye on is drive pressure (exhaust backpressure) the drive pressure ratio on these turbos is approximately 2:1 that means at 36 pounds of boost your pushing about 72 pounds of drive pressure that is more than enough to pop the head gasket. a safe drive pressure number is 60. But there isn't a readout for this on the MM so I put gauges in until I swap turbos and for the trans temp, of it's below 240 you're good the OD tune worked wonders for me.

Good Supporting mods are headstuds kind of a pain to put in but they really put my mind at ease. Some other good ones to consider would be a intake horn and boost tubes to get some more air to go with the extra fuel. Also, you cant go wrong with an air dog or fass fuel system.

Also, I wouldn't leave the MM on hot all the time. It's hard on things like your trans and your fuel system really has to work to keep up. also the extra timing adds to hg stress due to higher cylinder temps and higher combustion pressure.

Good luck!

Burn it down buddy!

To the OP..

You most definately need to watch your EGTs. Running that tuner on "hot" all the time with no attention to the EGT gauge is a sign of someone who:

1: has enough money to repair the broken/ melted parts
2: doesn't give a chit about the truck
3: believes everything the salesman says

The mini on hot is adding so much fuel and timing to the engine (especially with the stock turbo) that EGTs will be extremely high when hot rodding.

when i done a test on my truck 32 lb of boost = 60 lb on the drive pressure. i never go above that towing. this is just my 2 cents.
