Default Replace the 68rfe Tranny and Turbo with???

Sooo wizards of black soot and horsepower, weigh in. IF you were going to change out the transmission on your 2008 3500. What would you pick? not for racing but bulletproof dependable for towing? Still want to take advantage of the 6 speed?? would it be cost effective to have the 68 modified by someone? and who?
and which turbo to replace the VGT with cause we know it's going to fail at some point and personally I can't wait. Local guy recommends IDS?

Rail, We have had great luck running the ATS Stage 4 68RFE in our 2010 Twin Turboed mega cab here at the shop. And we tow a 44 ft gooseneck with up 2 trucks on it. It comes with a co-pilot lock up controller which on the 68rfe's control more than just lock up. It also increases line pressure to help clamp the clutch packs tighter together. In the 68RFE's the 5th gear and 6th gear clutch packs seem to be the weakest since they are the smallest. one of the biggest things you can do when you install the 68rfe is to make sure you do the proper trans learning which consists of going up and down in each gear 6 times back and forth.

As far as turbos go we have had great luck running the Industrial Injections Silver Bullet 66's with a 3rd gen 5.9L exhaust manifold. The turbo spools just like stock and gives you the ability to go to around 650hp safely while still running cool with a set of 125hp nozzles, 85% over cp3, and a Fass or Airdog 150. If you have any questions just let me know
