i just bought a 08 6.7 yesterday i noticed it has almost been straight piped minus the muffler still being on it it has the edge cts on it and i cant tell what they did for the egr system will the edge chip keep if from throwing a code and if it doesn't have and egr delete would it run like crap.

 

It wont run like crap but if the egr is intact it is throwing soot right back into the motor got any under hood pics? is there a stainless steel crossover tube in front of the valve cover. the edge should keep a code from throwing

 

i dont have any pics yet but im trying to figure out who i should by my egr delete from. and the plug that plugs into the egr system do i do anything with it or just leave it hanging. i dont know much about the new diesels and would like to eliminate this sooner than later all help is appreciated.

 

there are a few ways to disable the egr

plate under the egr, egr plunger removed, plug the crossover tube, complete removal,

any codes ?

 

a regular cts will not clear your egr and dpf codes i THINK the race one should but i cant be sure.. i had a cts and it dident clear my codes so i got a black maxx. as far as the egr delets i like h&s egr & cooler delete. just my .02

also when i took all my emission stuff off i had that cts on and it dident clear my codes and sent my truck into limp mode so keep that in mind
