Default 6.7 mods advice

hey guys newbie here. im currently in afghanistan for a year long deployment. before i left i bought a stock 2008 3500 QC SRW Laramie 4x4. Ive been reading all the post on the forums to try and get all the info i possibly could before posting anything. im lookin to get some good power out of the truck and maybe a little smoke nothing major. so far what i have in mind is the black maxx, afe CAI, black ops intake horn, full TBE (not sure which one yet), fuel rail shim kit, and possibly an air dog 150. with this set up i know the next step would be turbo and injectors but that will be later. how will the stock transmission (automatic) hold up to the full power setting on the maxx and should i get a TCC controller as well? any input, suggestions, or changes are greatly appreciated.

Your interests sound good but you should add an EGR/Cooler delete and a EWG if I were you just to be safe.

On the tranny side, check this out. These guys are good! ModernHorsepower.com - Dodge RAM Pickup

Ya what you have planed is a very good setup, but you will need to do something with the tranny eventually, you will get away with it for a while but not forever. If it were me i would get an upgraded rebuild kit for the tanny and a torque convertor, and tcm tuning. You do that and you will have it set.

Do a Smarty/XRT and 5" Exhaust Package. Get a good set of gauges, delete the egr, upgrade fuel system and work on beefing up the transmission.

I am a fan of the black maxx, you can do a lot more with it than the xrt, they are comming out with a program called active maxx that works with the black maxx, its like efi live for the cummins. Plus it has all of your gauges already.

You have to delete the cooler mang. That's where External Waste Gates bolt to, the exhaust manifold
