isn't there some guys drilling it out and still leaving on the truck. it looks stock but still picks up the milage. i don't want some nosie DOT inspector looking under my truck and putting me out of service. but i need to do something to get my milage up. its killing me over the road. the best i have done is 15mpg on flat roads doing 65.

yeah we just used a delete pipe that we made out of a 4 inch piece of pipe and built a flange using 3/8'' iron and kept the stock muffler intact because we found out that it is a straight through design so the flow can't be that bad and it keeps the noise down quite a bit, mileage has gone up about 3-4mpg using winter blend fuel i suppose the gains will be around the same in the summer with good regular #2, not to bad for an 11,000lb pickup with an 11ft service body full of stuff

From my understanding of it, the DPF is not illegal to remove from an 08, the Cats are. The DPF filter is set to comply with 2010 emissions, Dodge, Ford, and GM started to put them on to get ahead of the emission crap and start to work out bugs, plenty of those. Now then trying to tell that to the dealer may be another thing.

If you care about your warranty then I wouldn't recommend doing the deletes, unless you have a buddy at your local dealership That being said I would definitely do it all over again. life is too short to drive a stock truck, and let someone else tell me what I can or cant do to MY truck for me, the benefits outweighed the risks, but i'm kind of a power junkie
