Default DPF Delete Dillema

so i have been drooling over the h and s performance dpf delete kits. i am wondering if i the 5" monster exhaust kit is worth the extra cost over the 4". i run hotshot with my truck and i am a little concerned about DOT messing with me over it, but the 4" being only 300 dollars it would almost be worth the risk to me. what do yall think, i was gonna have my local muffler shop just gut the dpf and the cat and then buy the wiring from cbrahs, but he has recently had a lawsuit filed against him by daimler chrysler for doing deletes on dodge trucks!!!
**** ME OFF!!!

Damn. They actually cracked down on someone? Did they have a billboard that said "DPF DELETES HERE!"

no from what i understand he had done some deletes and the people took their truck in for warranty work and the dealer asked where they got it done and they squealed. punk *** bitches!!!

well i would imagine it's easier to file on a small town muffler shop than DOT or EPA. nothing would make me happier than to see that happen

I was meaning if someone was going to Sue a small shop why would Chrysler file the law suit and not the DOT or EPA. With the **** storm Chrysler is in I dont see them going after a small shop anyways.

well, i think it is because they somebody took their ride in for warranty work and the customer made a big stink about them not honoring the warranty.

i work for local semi truck dealership and when i went to school when all this dpf first came out they stressed so much on removing or messing with dpf's.we were told that if epa finds out that dealeships removed it or messed with it they could be fined up to$1.000.000.we did a lot of frame extansions and moving exaust systems around diferent body applications but now we have to know for sure what goes on truck so you can order truck with correct exaust system.
if you are thinking of deleting dpf you can do it but dont destroy original as you may need it down the road for warranty.even respected mufler shops are not going to remove it for you if they want to keep theirs doors open

Just my .02 but yes the 5" TBE is worth it. My truck breathes so much better now with out all that crap choking it down. The factory exhuast on our trucks has got to be one of if not THE most restrictive system I've ever seen. Sent you a PM too.

I've been happy with my S&B so far, and even before I did my deletes, I never got a code from it. S&Bs customer service also gets a big from me. When I ordered mine, the airbox had a manufacturing defect where the lid screws down on it. Two pictures and two phone calls later, they had another one on the way, and didn't even ask for the defective airbox back.
I forgot to add that it was CBrahs who made those phone calls to S&B for me... so he gets his share of that credit for excellent customer service. I might also add that not only does the setup I have work, it works very well.
