Default 6.7 mod list

my buddy is purchasing a 07 6.7. he asked me to get him set up to get more power and mileage.

he wants an intake, programmer and an exhaust( which may not be possible with the dpf).

the programmer doesnt have to be the most powerful but must turn the dpf and egr off.
I was thinking smarty was the only choice.

I guess what i am saying is help me spend my friends money. there are only a few catches.
1. I have to be able to install it.
2. it still has to be able to tow and be a dd
3. he is still going to try to keep it some what in warranty shape (intake our dealer is cool with)

ok from what I was reading my buddy should wait and get the H&S performance Black maxx. that thing is wicked.
for an intake eithe S&B or XDI.

he is going to see what his warranty is and decide whether or not the DPF and EGR are going before he does an exhaust.

Mopar sells factory DPF back exhaust if wanna keep the DPF. Some dealers will drop your warranty for anything. Diesel Power magazine had a list of things that wont void your warranty on a 6.7 and they were... S&B Intake, spray in bedliner, a camper shell and aftermarket rims. Youre very limited if you keep the warranty or if your dealership isnt cool.

I would recommend doing a cold air, H&S Perf. XRT box because they leave nothing detectable and any after dpf exhaust. I work for a dealer and see alot of these trucks on a daily basis. I usually care less what's on the truck but that's my decision to make when the truck comes in, I'm the only cummins tech and my own boss. Chrysler does say though that any aftermarket intake can void your warranty on a 6.7 due to the increase in air flow which modifies fueling causing the dreaded p2262 code, but you get that code with any one of them out there.

The ECM's in the 6.7L Cummins makes it impossable to be NOT decectable.

You mess with anything they can void the warrenty because they can see it.

So if your going to do it, do it and live with a better truck. IMO.

The XRT or the Blackmax. The Blackmax will have an upgrade avbl called Activemax which will allow you to fine tune the truck the way you want it. They are gonna be alittle on the exspensive side but their products are top notch and their programs rock!

The smarty allows you to fine tune the truck as well already. They just don't offer guages at the moment but it's in the works from what I gather.

Both are really good tuners and companies. Either one of the three would be a good choice!
