Default DFP EGR Delete exhaust questions with Smarty

Hi Everyone

I am thinking about getting my first round of mods for my 08 3500 6.7 Dually. I really want to delete the DFP but with the smarty you need to also delete/disable EGR. I am thinking of buying the kit from Rollin Smoke Diesel. Here is the link.

http://http://www.rollinsmokediesel....ce-package.cfm

Here are my questions and I was hoping to get feedback from guys that have or have had this setup before.

1. They have an option for muffler or no muffler. Do any of you have without the fuller? If so, how loud was it? If it is too obnoxious my wife would be unhappy. Those with the DPF delete and a muffler on a 5" exhaust, could you still tell a noise difference?

2. Anyone experience drone at certain RPM?

3. there is also the option of EGR Plates or EGR plates and cooler delete? has anyone that had just the EGR plates eventually add the cooler delete? If so, why.

4. Lastly - if you had to buy it over again with a stock truck - would you be looking at a different setup.

Thanks for helping me with this first set of mods. 4 out of 5 Dodge dealerships in Las Vegas are closing and I am fed up with the monthly trips to fix the DPF garbage. I wish I could have my 07 5.9 back.

just delete it all dpf and egr and cooler delete. and put a muffler on it because it will be very loud with out one. you will tell a noise differents out side of the truck but not inside of truck. you will be very happy with this setup.

ok - you guys have me convinced. EGR and cooler delete. Would you consider a 4" vs a 5" exhaust? the one I am looking at is the 5". I figure it might help with EGTs over the 4'.

Would anyone disagree with going with the 5" and opt for a 4".

Thanks again for the posts.

When I got my exhaust I was at first thinkin about 4" aluminized... Then I said hell, if im gonna keep the truck a long time, might as well go full out. (5" stainless TB dual exhaust)
It all depends on what you wanna spend

I got my smarty and 5" turbo back exhaust from rollin smoke diesel. They where great to deal with. I installed the egr blocker plates, and the exhaust, but did not install the sims for the egt probes. I would suggest getting them. Some guys say that there trucks work good with the probes hanging from the frame rail, but mine is not one of them. My truck seems to be stuck in warm up mode, its 75 degrees here. I believe that the egts are to blame for the extremely loud hissing that I am getting, and today I got a little white smoke , scared me so I parked my truck until I get my sims on monday.

All in all I love the smarty, easy to use, crazy power even on the lower settings.

I am running the truck on SW3, tq 2, timing 2, rail pressure 2.

22 miles per gallon
