Default Need some help with my first mods

I opened a thread asking for opinions of my first mods. I took all the advice that everyone gave me on here and I talked to my mechanic, she is always my final stop before I do anything, no offense to anyone.

Here's what she came up with. Gauges, intake, exhaust, Air Dog or FASS then a better clutch. So she is in agreement with the advice I got on here. Once that is all done I will figure out what to do from there.

My questions today are about the intake and the Air Dog or FASS.

I am going to be going with an AFE intake. I've tried researching on the internet but I can't find out what the difference is between the different models. I went to AFE's website but when I entered the info for my truck, 2008 Dodge 3500 with a 6.7, guess that last part's a given. What I have found on websites that sell the intakes contradict each. Some sites say that the XP, CX and SI will work for me. Other sites say just the SI and CX will work. One site I found listed two different models for the CX, 54-31342 and 75-31342. The pictures are kind of small but the filters themselves look like they might be different sizes on the two different CX models. The XP definetely has a larger airfilter. Then there's the SI which is sealed. Does anyone have any experience with these intake systems that give tell me which one performs the best?

Also does anyone have experience with the Air Dog and FASS systems that can tell me if one has any advantages over the other.

I can find lots of reviews on one of these items at a time but that doesn't give me any kind of comparison between them.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I would call a vendor or two here on this site to straighten it out for yourself.
It seems like you are at that stage in your resarch where that would be beneficial.

Sometimes, talking to someone on the phone, or in person about this stuff once you have the basic ideas can make all the difference in the world as far as understanding and making an informed choice.

Good Luck!

Differences in Airdog and FASS are minimal. Both have a lifetime warranty so you cannot go wrong either way. As for intakes, I ran the aFe Stage 2 Cold Air Intake System Type Cx with Pro-Dry S (part #51-31342) for a long time with no issues. Good filter and it requires no oiling.
