Deletes Guidance
Hello fellow sooty's, I'm new here from the PNW, Oregon, and I just stepped into this diesel realm with the purchase of a 2012 Ram 6.7 3500 Laramie crew cab shorty six speed auto, with 51,000 miles on the ticker. The truck is bone stock, except for nitrogen filled snow tires and a tonneau cover.
The first thing I want to do is the deletes. (exhaust, egr, and throttle items)
This is where I need others guidance. Peeps around here are saying to go with a Mini-Maxx tuner, and of course do the throttle and egr deletes, but there is mixed ideas about a 4" or 5" TBE exhaust system.
Some say you get a drone sound from a 5" TBE, and you have to remove the spare for clearance, but it flows better, sounds better than a 4", lower EGT's and its ready for max HP.
Then on the 4", its the same size as OEM, with a higher pitch in sound, higher EGT's, limited on HP, but its easier to install in the OEM location.
I find myself leaning towards a 5", but still not sure. I've even seen some do half and half.
I will probably never push it over the 500 HP range, and use it mostly for towing my 24ft tt over the passes. It will never see hardcore mud pit thrasing or racing.
The next thing to fix on it is a leveling kit and stepping up to 35's. Not sure what size rims to go with.
Peeps here are saying that 35's still rub up front a bit, (even with a 2.5 leveling), and you can trim to accommodate. I REALLY don't like the idea of "trimming".
So, here I am, seeking...looking....and listening.

I have been told several but i hate the salesmen pitch. i heard edge juice was good but than efilive. but i can affoerd to do the full delete right off the bat. and i heard u have to do the deletes first with that. i have read the h&s mini maxx allows u to shut off egr and run stock pipes with its tuner. I still have warrenty for 2 years so i would like to beable to put back to stock if have any issues. what have u found ontunersand what is ur ideas?

I found a mini maxx 10091003 non-pyro race tuner brand new sealed in box for $600 near me.
I ordered a generic egr and cooler delete with throttle delete tube for $90.
I'm into the Magnaflow stainless 4" turbo back exhaust for $200.
So, I'll be into the deletes for just under 1k.
Now if I could only find the H&S unlock code generator for cheap this could easily come together smoothly.
