I am very surprised that someone has not come out with a relief valve that has a stiffer spring. Shimming is ok but a exchange for one with a stiffer spring would be nice. From what I read you take a big chance if you plug it. it most cases it is fine but if you get a big spike you may be buying new injectors. I am having problems with mine under heavy load so I bought a shim kit and it should be here monday.
im not saying its not going to fail something.
what i am saying is i got 60 thousand miles. with out a single prob i have heard bad on the net only but not from experience or anyone that it has happend to. i drive my truck like a stock car. i pull trailers grossing a touch over 20k all the way down to car trailers. and hasnt exploded yet.
