6.7 delete
I’ve been thinking about doing a 6.7 Cummins DPF delete, but I’m trying to understand the real pros and cons before making a decision. I know the truck was originally designed to run with DEF and the emissions system, and the cost of DEF itself isn’t really my concern.
What I’m really interested in is a deeper explanation of the benefits and downsides of doing a 6.7 Cummins DPF delete—things like reliability, performance, long-term engine health, and anything else I should consider.
I’d appreciate hearing from anyone who has experience with it or has researched it in detail.
Thanks!

I’ve done quite a bit of reading on this, and honestly, the biggest immediate benefit of a 6.7 cummins dpf delete is performance and simplicity. You get better exhaust flow, slightly improved fuel economy, and no more worrying about DPF regeneration cycles clogging your truck. That said, keep in mind it’s technically illegal for street use in the U.S., and it can complicate resale or inspections. Engine-wise, most people report no major issues if the delete is done properly, but cheap kits or sloppy installs can lead to sensor problems or turbo issues down the line.
