Default muffer removal

Hi, I just bought a2014 cummings with 14000 miles. Will it benefit any or hurt any if I remove the muffler and just have a straight pipe. Not looking to gain 1000 horsepower. Just some sound would be nice . And Will the truck smoke without the muffler. Thanks for your help

Without the muffler you will notice minimal change in sound. The DPF/DOC does a lot of muffling. As the muffler is after the DPF/DOC, there will be no smoke/emissions difference.
