Im selling my 5.9 12 valve and found a 08 6.7. And was wandering is there any specifics to what I should look for. I've Owens two 24 valve vps and one 12 valve. Just ready for something new and dunno much about common rail stuff yet. But gonna start learning soon. Any input is appreciated

I do know I'll eventually do deletes. But I have to save my penny's. But anything else I could do or look for on it??

 

The 07.5 through 08 6.7 dodge has an inherent problem with fires in the engine compartment. There is a recall for the problem and it is supose to take care of the problem. I would check the vin and have a dealer check to see if it has been done, if not have it done imeadiately. Other than that they are good trucks depending of course on how you treat them. If you are hard on your vehicles you can expect problems with the trans weather it is auto or stick doesn't seem to matter. The more ponies you put in the motor up to about 500 HP will help with MPG but there are issuses with head gaskets when you push these engines. There are several fixes for that including a different gasket and head studs. It really depends on how you drive and what you do with tour truck. Hope this helps. There is a post on this forum about the fire issuses and some problems with recuring check engine lights but if you delete then all those problems go away.
