2012 HO Question and all 6.7 Owners ???????
I did the 5 inch turbo back to 6 inch stacks no muffler, Sinister egr cooler delete, s&b Cold air intake and mini max with h&s Tuning that came with. Since i did all this is it normal for the motor it self to sound a little louder with the diesel tap. It seems like i hear the motor more then i did before in side the cab. It taps more like the 5.9 i had. and the 6.7 when i bought it was a little more quiet. Just getting worried cause i took a truck with only 1300 miles and did all this to it. But im sure its well worth it in saving the motor and turbo from all that extra heat that is not good for it. Any one with a 6.7 please comment if you did the deletes did you hear the motor a little more.

You hear everything more. It's just an all around loud, noisy beast that's a nuisance to your GF, neighbors, and nearby pedestrians. But you definitely hear the engine alot more. I would say it's normal. But, your truck is still in the break-in stage and doing deletes this early can cause some strong urges(burnouts, pulls on the highway, etc) that may not be healthy for it yet.

i did the deletes to mine with not to many more miles then that. i drive my truck like a stock car. i say drive it how your going to drive it. (break any motor in how your going to drive it and treat it ..........imo) all i can say is you got all the emissions off now which make it quiter. you just made it a diesel again. drive it and love it!! i dont think you have anything to worry about. you can just here everything now where before you could hear very little.

BTW when do you have to start worrying about egts getting too high? Would you get it up there by daily driving and doing highway pulls? Me and my buddy raced on the freeway the other night (he's got an 01 24v. I ripped him up by 3 or 4 truck lengths). After, he told me his egt alarm went off on his edge, which I think was at 1250! It makes me start worrying. I'm planning to get gauges here real quick. But how much is too much? And how long should I let it idle before shutting it down?
