They say it is in the owner's manual, but I say to hell with it. The only thing it's hurting is the DPF. I let mine idle every morning for about that long, and I've never had a problem; not even a DPF % full light They say cold idling is the hardest on the engine because combustion isn't complete and the rings are cold and don't seal 100%.. warm idling is different, but still not necessary and should be avoided. It will also cause cylinder washdown, diluting your oil with fuel. So, I'm gonna be shortening my idle time to maybe 5 minutes tops. Then just drive it easy til I see the temp gauge begin to rise.

Do you guys not set the high idle and exhaust brake on your 6.7s to help them warm up? It shouldn't take 30 mins to warm them up with that stuff on......

I'm probably exaggerating on the 30 minutes. Usually I start it up about 30 minutes before I have to be at work. I'll usually leave 15 minutes early to get there on time. The longest I'd say has been 20 minutes tops. And yes I use my EB almost all the time driving.

Good deal, just making sure because there are some people that don't know about the high idle.
