Expect Haze Until Break In? Really?
I test drove a couple 6.7's at the dealership the other day, both with less than 10 miles. After a couple miles they both were hazing blue at idle for a minute or so. The service man said that it was normal blow-by that would occur until the engine broke in.
That right? All of ya'll see that?

It's not the black smoke that is germane to the DPF, it's a light blue haze like what would be caused by low combustion temps or burning oil. I guess it could be a EGR valve returning too much and lowering combustion temperatures a lot, otherwise I don't know what it could be. The excuse he gave doesn't sound too off the wall.
At least two did it, so we'll see.

We have a bunch of them at work, and I have never seen this....One has about 5000miles on it, and you can run your hand inside the tail pipe and not get any soot on your hand....kinda weird for a diesel. Sounds like a story, but hey who knows??? I will be getting one early in the new year, but have only driven a few so far, wasnt looking for smoke, but sure didnt notice any either!
