Default exhaust emissions?!?!?!?!

I just recently perchased a 2011 dodge 2500 cummins. I dont know anything about all the emissions stuff that has been put on it. is there a way to remove it and keep the stock exhaust or do I need to purchase a whole new system, and if so will this void the warranty?
Please any comments is helpful... Thanks

I have a 2010 and it has the same emissions crap as yours. I has a DPF(diesel particulate filter) to help reduce soot, and an EGR(exhaust gas recirculation). They do make pieces that fit in where the muffler and DPF go but if you mess with that you void the warrenty so you have to wait your 5yrs/100,000mi to not void it. I currently took out just the muffler and it sounds much better and i have had a little power gain too. If you do take out the DPF you have to get a chip so it does not keep throwing a code in the computer. Hope this helps....

they make all sorts of delete kits for the emissions stuff. just do some research and you will find a bunch of goodies

A guy in town has a 2010 and has done the dpf and egr deletes. He has kept all of the stock components and says he will just switch it back to have any warrenty work done. Yes it sounds like a pain in the butt......but is an option i guess.

warranty work is at the discretion of the dealer on voiding warranty....some say it will, i always took mine to the one that didnt care bout the mods...the dealerships owners son had an 07.5 modded...tried to sell me his superchips, but i told him no..i had the edge....check around a couple diff dealers and see what they say...mine is an 08 has 94k on it....it hadnt had emission crap on it since 5k miles
