yellow engine light

left it at the dealer today, I all but begged them to replace the turbo so it would be clean when I make the switch. They told me they had a pile of turbos in stock. I can only imagine dropping 48-51 k for a truck only to have it backing up over and over. Every time I go to the dealer there is someone dropping off a 07 or newer 6.7 because the light is on??
I searched for ever and ever to find a low mileage 07 and up knowing that as soon as I got it, I would be pulling the crap off it.
I am hoping Luke will come through this week with the H&S and numerous other items so I can install them with the clean turbo.
I could no more the idle through the bank and the yellow light would come on!

Just got it back from the dealer, they installed a new turbo, new sensors and a replaced the egr stuff which I will be pulling off within two weeks.
I could tell the mileage went down when the light was on, at least on mine. I bought a 5 inch SS pipe, filter with scope, egr delete and H&S mini max from Diesel Dawgs with a rail plug and pyro. Not that it has a new turbo, I am going to try and get it on ASAP. I haven't met one person with a 07 or 08 that the light does not come on. That doesn't mean everyones will. However once they have done the deletes, life is good.

updated 02 sensors and heat wrap
replace both 02 sensors and tighten pins to turbo connectors
clear codes and re drive reset p2262
replace turbo - new turbo
basically they replaced the turbo, two sensors and the heat shield/wrap.
Tomorrow all the deletes are being done. Otherwise it would just be a round robin again and again.
Once they replaced it, I just parked it until we had time to pull all the stuff off, from what I understand, it should not be a issue anymore after that.
The guy at the dealership told me that there are 07's and up weekly and the come back often unless there pulling or working them. He says if the customer is pissed enough they just put a new turbo in and it gets them to stay away longer then a simple clean.
This is just my experience.
Good luck with yours!

turbo issues
I have had my 08 in the dealer 3 times this month for egr and turbo issues. 67k and now getting the egr cleaning process. I am being told that the egr system was plugged and the control valve needed to be replaced. Being out of state i didn't have any choose than to let the dealer do the cleaning. Now i am getting turbo erratic operations, some good boost and some times no boost. Engine brake operates normally most of the time and some times won't come on at all. I have been telling the dealer this, but with them seeing the issue or code they always say it is fine, ok. Being a tech and engineer for 40 years they don't believe the owner/driver. How do I convince the dealer the VGT is the issue? Marko

My 09 with 14,500 miles. Third time in the shop in a two weeks span. Just got it out of the shop and they replaced the turbo, egr valve, heat wrapped 02 sensors etc. Demand it and threaten with the "Class Action Lawsuit". They will replace your turbo.

Forgot to mention. Jake brake was working occasionally and also, turbo totally gummed up. Engine light would come on and off. Regen message has NEVER appeared on my truck. You don't realize how bad your truck was running until all new turbo etc installed. WOW runs like new. FOR NOW
