Jerks...
I've said it before and I'll say it again, if you don't have anything even remotely constructive to add, keep it to yourself.
How do you propose that it's unreasonable for a paying customer to expect his truck to run properly after having work done? I think eating the cost of a fuel rail when it appears to be no fault of his own, is MORE than reasonable, seeing as how the fuel rail had to be unhooked to replace the head gasket and install studs.

HEY FORCED INDUCTION! you might want to find another forum since you have just about pissed everyone in this one off!!! mainly the boys from TEXAS! which is not a good thing.
if you catch my drift. you should probably find a forum that is more to your mental capabilities, something like, i don't know, one for dumb *** SWIFT TRANSPORT mechanics, if you are the one working on them, its know wonder i see them trucks on the side of the freeway all the time! i noticed that you don't have any friends on you profile, you keep p!ssing people off the way you have just done and you wont have any!
First of all the Injection lines to the Rail were a extremely tight as if they had been taken off before an improperly torqued. When we reinstalled the lines they were torqued to factory spec.
The Upper Gasket set came straight from Cummins, directly ordered off the engine serial #.
You possibly think the Knock could be from running your Edge on 4 and your Smarty on 7???
Sorry for your bad luck!
Also the Rail was not leaking when the truck left the shop. It was leaking but after taking the line off and reinstalling it the leak quit.
We got notified of this the next day at an event that we put a few jobs off to get this customer truck out for!
Please feel free to call me Johnathon I will more then gladly make some time for you to bring your truck in so I can diagnose the Knock you are claiming to have.

It was correct gasket it was the same as the 6.7 gasket that came out, had coolant port holes between each cylinder. The truck was taken to operating temp and re torqued again and valves set to 10 intake and 20 exhaust after the engine cooled off.

Logan. why was the fuel rail leaking and having to be re-installed. Was it cross threaded the first time. or have some crud in it that it did not tighten properly? Not arguing that there are not some other possibilities pertaining to the cause of the current issue with this particular motor. Just wondering. And as A side note. Arguing on the internet will just get you A bigger hole to dig out of. Am gonna say this again because the mouth breathing mongloids like my good buddy FI, just never get it. The only way you will ever be A solid voice on the internet is for being A *****, Idiot, Or **** star. Best thing for you in this situation is to get off of here and carry on. Fix it if it is by any possible fault of your shop, or
it and walk away. Farm Diesel, Have read most of your posts, So there is always the point of some personal responsibility. So whatever is between you should be solved there not here. Rhino.

Do you have anything intelligent to say?
You're attempting to put words in my mouth. No, I'm saying that such people are likely to drive the vehicle harder and with more power than it was designed for. Such activities are inherently risky since no engine is bulletproof.
Nobody is saying you do.
How do you propose that it's unreasonable for a shop to expect to pay for coincidental part failures while having work done? How do we or FarmDiesel know it was the shops fault and not a preexisting condition that was exacerbated by the work being performed?
Then why did you post?
BOO HOO. The world isn't all cookies and rainbows. If you want the TRUTH, I'll help you get an answer. If you want every response to be about puppies and kittens, go cry on somebody elses shoulder.
What was Texas full of again?

Right, one that isn't full of Texan steers (or...?) that think blowing smoke is "cool".
Listen, bud, if you're attempting to make an insult, it helps to at least get the company name right. I know "-ation" on the end of their name is very difficult for you to remember.
You must know very little. (obviously, you've very much proven it so far). You do understand the difference between "know" and "no", right?
Nobody from "TEXAS" will be my friend!?!?!?!? Oh the horror, how will I live my life!?
Finally, the source. Thank you for tanking the time and wading through all those trolls to give us this information.
As was stated before, "an unreasonable customer."
The TRUTH is often hard to swallow, such facts are often brushed to the side by people afraid of reality, such as yourself.
So your saying everyone that has a headgasket replaced and studs put in abuses there truck.
Now granted I use my truck and I dont baby it ,but I dont crank up, run the hottest tune I can, and build as much boost as possible before its warm
