How many of the different say 500-600hp 800-1000FTLBS TRQ, Units replace the factory fly wheel??? Have seen A few. And have heard that some of them are far from smooth? Anyone really like theirs??

i dont know an aftermarket company that utilizes the junk dual mass fly wheels other than (centerforce or zoom). Ford went away from them for a reason and the G56 clutches dont hold for crap. They are a very common fail and its irritating that that design was pickup up outta the scrap bin.

1SlowCTD.. Good to know.. So what would be your personal recommendation for A strong, smooth one? Thanks.

The new Valair Nodular Sprung Hub Dual Disc's are going great. Much better than the Solid Hub Design.

Sadly, this is a very common problem with the dual mass setup. The springs have a tendency to wear rather quickly. We have seen trucks with as little as 10k needing a new clutch and with the addition of a tuner and other go fast goodies it will only enhance the slipping.

The South Bend SDD series have been great sellers, worth taking a look at if you are having issues.

I run the south bend dual disc in my 09, i love it, at first it shifted kinda rough but after awhile it gets smoother, and you can't beat james's prices at rsd :woot2:

KoalRolr 03-15-2010 02:00 PM

I was thinking about maybe a Valair single disc full ceramic??

Thats what i run in my 12v for now and so far its good but haven't done any major launches yet either.

my09cummins 03-16-2010 03:01 PM

I really haven't heard anything bad about valair, but everyone in my area is runnin southbend so i haven't really heard much about them at all. But i would recommend that if you plan on goin with a lot more upgrades, go with a dual disc. If you are just gonna do a few small upgrades here and there a big single will probably work just fine

KoalRolr 03-16-2010 05:46 PM

I'll pry wait and get the dd then i'll start with the upgrades. :tu: Does your XRT make much smoke out of the 6.7 or no?
