Give it time to break in. Also, keep it locked out of 6th gear. It pulls the engine down too much.

When I drive my truck, 65mph and keep pretty light on the petal, I can get up to 21mpg. But when I drive like I usually do its more like 16.5... Havent got ahold of a heavy load since I put most on my mods, which are listed in my signature.

By the way. When my truck was factory, I and and a 04 5.9L pulled 2 5th wheel trailers near the same size for about 200 miles. Mine got 8mpg and the 5.9 got 13mpg the 5.9 was factory with dual wheels and 373 ratio.

Cruise control set at 75 MPH for several hundred miles and hand calc'ed I got slightly over 15MPG. I've got the 6 speed manual.

Mine's holding at about 18 on the highway holding a steady 70, 3.73 gears with the 6 speed auto. I've had 10K on the back of it once, and it was around 11 to 12, which was about the same as my old 1500 with the 4.7 when I had 5000 lbs behind it, so with double the load it's about the same. I can't argue... wish it was better but what ya gonna do.

I do hava an S&B intake sitting here waiting to go on hopefully next weekend if I have time, that is supposedly about .5 to 1 mpg depending who you talk to.

Yes give it time to break in and you will get start to see better MPG. It will break in sooner if you tow with it more. As for the EGR and DPF delete, I have learned that with the Smarty programmer, It has the software to allow you to take out the DPF and EGR and the computer won't throw any codes. Just a tidbit of info. Hope it helps.
