Default 6.7 sluggish in od?

My buddy is buying a 6.7 andf thinks it is very sluggish in O/D when stopping on it. HE said my 5.9 felt like a rocket compared to this. it is a 6 speed auto 2008 big horn.
this 6.7 has 13k also could that be some of the issue?

DPF, can you just unplug it without any side effects?

thats what I thought as well. it is a 6 speed auto. I told him to try it with the O/D off and see if it is better.

it does have a jake brake too. very nice truck

The drop in rpms in 6th is insaine, If it doesn't downshift when punched, yes it is a slug. I think when I was drivin my buds it was at 1350 goin 70

he said it did down shift when he punched it and it was still a slug. when he gets a chance he is going to drive it with the od off. that should tell him if anything is wrong with the truck. I am guessing the low rpms are what does it. I also asked him why that would be so importatnt.

The '08 6.7L we de-BlueTec'd in the shop last winter was such a slug while baselining that I had to pop the hood just to make sure there really was a Cummins in there somewhere.
