6.7 liter nightmare
Here is a stupid question but i had to ask, since i bought my Dodge 3500 cab and chasis I have had two new sets of injectors and three turbos put on this truck all covered by warranty, thankfully. Here is the question can you put a 5.9 literdiesel in my truck as of right now the truck got some bad fuel and blew the injectors. at 1800 a piece it would it be cheaper to put a 5.9 in. Any help would be appreciated.

NO. The VIN is registered with a 6.7. Removing the engine would be illegal due to not passing emissions as well as the wiring harness is totally different. It would be a lot easier if you just got rid of it and found a good 07 5.9.
where you getting injectors at $1800 each? I can get them for you for $1500

Yes, the Rams do have those problems...most of which stem from being choked by the emissions equipment. With the exception of a recall for an 02 sensor module, the only thing mine has had to go to the shop for has been emissions equipment related problems. I've talked to the tech at the local dealership, and he has replaced in the neighborhood of 200 turbos in the last year or so. I've had the turbo code come up on mine several times, as well as a code for an injector circuit open, a bad EGR bypass valve replaced, and had to do more than one forced regen. I don't let mine idle, and although I wouldn't say I abuse mine, I don't baby it either. They all have their quirks, regardless of which of the big three built them. The info I have is that the factory is supposed to have a permanent fix for our problem child DPF sometime in February. I'll post it up as soon as I find out exactly what it is.
