Unhappy CEL is back

When I shut off my truck last night, I had no CEL. When I started it up this afternoon, the CEL was there, and I was blowing alot of white smoke. I know that means my truck is stuck in REGEN right? How do I stop it? The EGR is still plugged in.

How do I check them? I forgot the sequence.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

I tried to check it, it said P something, but it disappeared before I could read it all, and then it gave me 6 bars, then said Done.

Starting from the off position.. Turn the key to the on position(not far enough to start) then back off, three times, fairly quickly.. A "P" code is powertrain related. Once it has gone through the diagnostic sequence, you will see the word "done"
I still haven't found a comprehensive list of all the codes for the '08 yet. The list of codes I looked at here on the site, doesn't cover most of the ones I've had come up on mine.
Post what codes you had come up and if it's one I don't know, I bet somebody else will.

I never unplugged the EGR. I didn't have time to unplug the batteries. And yes, I am at Fort Hood.

The code I got is P2426. Anyone know what that means?

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

I just read somewhere it is P242b, not a 6. Exhaust temp sensor circuit perf. WTF is that, and how do I fix it?

Sounds like a probe in the DPF is reading high, kicking the truck into regen.
