Has anyone experianced or heard of any problems with running purple fuel in the 6.7, my dad is thinking of getting one, and we need to know if it can or not.

You gotta run ULSD in the 6.7 trucks or your just asking for a trip to the dealership and they'll void your warranty for not using ULSD.
I think he's talking about Marine diesel?

Purple, by that I think you are referring to red fuel( off road) and yes you will have problems if you run off road in a 6.7 unless the dpf is removed.

Then you REALLY will void the warrenty. I see Diesels in shops all the time for warrenty with mods done. Programmers, boxes, turbos. Hell I saw a deealer warrenty out a engine in a duramax with twins. Even put the twins back on for the guy! Things are so slow that they will let alot slide. The one thing they have all told me though is that the WILL not warrenty a new truck with teh DPF removed.

Yes I'm Canadian, I meant dyed farm fuel, ours is purple in color, im not sure what color the states farm fuel is, but will the dye in the fuel mess anything up, our fuel is ultra low sulfur also.

The dye wont cause you problems but if the fuel isnt ULSD (15 ppm or less I believe) that will cause you problems. I would imagine these new trucks are ultra sensitive to fuel.

Do you plan on using this as a farm/work truck or a "going to town on Saturday" truck? Either way, I personally think you are better off staying with the tried and true 5.9L. One of the mods here is running a 08 and hes had problems with it. The mileage is terrible to boot....Just an opinion from a non owner.

Default fruit punch

id never heard it called that till this web site but had to chime in . got a bud with a 08 3500 bone stock that is used for farming . and he has run the purp for the trucks entire 26k kms . currently at 18 mpg and dropping . started at 24 mpg . after running with a reader hooked up hes getting alot of regens and lots of back pressure .

dpf chokes out on any thing but ulsd . i love mine and although i miss my 5.9 i aint goin back.

as a fellow canuck went south and got a 07 with just under 50k miles just a few months ago and the price was well worth losing the warranty . i could repalce the entire drivetrain (motor to rear end) and still be ahead of what i wouldve paid here. And as far as ive been able to establish cummins will still take care of you for the motor, just lose any help from dodge .

go give our southern brothers a little cash and hook the dpf on somthing on the way up here and leave it down there. and let her drink the fruit punch.
