EFI Live vs Smarty vs Mini Maxx
Trying to decide on the best programmer. All I want to do is EGR and DPF deletes, not really interested in increasing power, all of my driving is long haul highway and I just want to max out my mpg and get the longest life out of my motor.
I found the EFI and Smarty kits on ebay with all the delete parts for ~$1300, but the old style Mini Maxx with the necessary parts is $2300. Why the increase in price? Is this an issue of getting what you pay for?
Here's the links for the Smarty and EFI programmers.

The EFI Live is a programmer. The unit plugs into your OBDII port, uploads the stock tune from the ECM, saves it and downloads the (EGR DPF) supported delete tune. It takes me about 5-8 minutes to go from one tune to another with my EFI Live Autocal. Once the new "tune" is loaded into your ECM, you can unplug the EFI Live. So far I have been EXTREMELY happy with mine.
I did some research on delete supported programmers, I originally was going to go with the Smarty with the ME files (ME means delete supported) However, the EFI live has WAY more tuning options, and the trusted guy i bought it from talked me into the EFI Live..
I have seen 25.5 mpg on my overhead display. I was driving 55 and re-set it while driving. When i fill up at the pump im consistently getting 20 mpg!! way better than my original 15 with DPF and stuff!!

I got an EFI live w/ trans tune and had them build me a tune for my usual load of 2000lbs in extra weight in tools that I carry around daily. My only problem so far was I didnt have all my **** thrown in because it was in an other state. IT WAS TO MUTCH TRUCK FOR ME! l I really had to pay attention to my left foot. After I rigged up it was still really capable. You couldnt go wrong with an EFI.
