Default Exhaust help

I have a 09 dodge cummins 2500 mega cab and I want it to sound better and run better. It's all stock and I didn't know what to do as far as exhaust. I don't want it to blow a ton if smoke but just a little is fine, not really worried about that. Also, whatever I need, how much would it be? Thanks.

Well you have a few options:
purchase an MBRP DPF back 5" exhuast. this will rid only the stock muffler and make a little throatier and louder than stock maybe looking at $125-200

Purchase a full delete kit, You WILL need a programmer that supports the deletes. Then you can go full on 4"-5" turbo back exhaust. that will really be louder than stock.. $1100+
I did the full deletes and my truck runs fantastic now, ran good before but even better now.

do a search on the forums here, lots of good information about your topic for the 6.7

Make sure you at least address the exhaust system before you start tuning and adding fuel for more power. ya need to free up the exhaust to get the benefits of a tuner. Oh and get gauges to monitor that beast.

Doing a cat back on the new diesels. Is like rubbing the girls leg your married too. Why rub when you can do the right thing. if u can't afford it just save your cash and do something you will be impressed with. Before I even seen My truck (when I ordered it back in 08) I had my brother take it and have the exhaust cut off. The muffler guy I know said he's going to be pissed cause he knows i like at minimum a like rumble. And it was a truck you could start twice. And you would never know. Except for the starter screaming.

But, you HAVE to have a tuner that supports the DPF and EGR deletes in order to run a more free flowing (no DPF filters) exhaust. If you run different exhaust before a tuner your gonna get a CEL and poor performance.

MXRacer, fill in your signature so we know what you have and what youve done to your truck.
