Default 2012 Ram 2500 6.7 best options.

Hi all,

Just picked up a 2012 with 46000. Truck is like new garage kept but im sure the previous owner didn't use any additives at all. mileage was at 8 mpg for the first tank. i added some diesel clean and drove it hard on the interstate home. second tank 10.8 mpg. i live in a county with no emissions so what is my best route to better mileage. I am in the process of building an expedition vehicle and don't necessarily need more power just better mpg.

Any help would be great thanks in Advance

Unfortunately about the only way to get noticeable gains in mileage is to get rid of the emissions, if you can find an H&S personally that's about the best route (personal opinion) because it also programs your tranny. I've found the hotter the tune the better the mileage... But then the hotter the tune the more stress on other parts, like your tranny... It's a slippery slope, and can get spendy, but HP is addicting :-)

09 qsb, parts fell off, some got add, car seat and hot wife mod adds about 50hp right?

Race ME is a programmer that will remove the emissions junk.

Since Luke is going to jump in about the ME it seems no matter what advice you get on here, my suggestion is to look around on here and other forums. It's been beaten to death about what's better. Reallity is from what I've seen, preference, and expectations, along with future goals. Smarty, H&S, and EFI live are all popular and work great

I suggested Race ME since he just wants to add a little power and remove the dpf. Hard to point guys to a $1500+ tuner.

I keep forgetting how expensive they've gotten since ATS cryed to the EPA. same time tho, I got mine because the emissions were causing me to have to get warranty work almost every month so I started just wanting to get rid of them, now I'm cranking a touch over 500hp and climbing every chance I get to add more

Thanks wild, The H&S seems to be the best fit. I'm gathering all the parts I need .

I have H&S on a 2008 3500 and I get 20mpg with 285's on the highway over the pass in Colorado. Good luck, have fun, keep us posted what you get when your done.
