Asking for trouble if you add a tuner without deleting the DPF and EGR.

I used the Edge Evo HT for about 2000 miles on my truck. helped with the power however the truck went into re-gen more often. best thing to do: Delete it all.
engine runs and breathes so much better.. i was skeptical about doing it, but i am glad i did. milege went up, no more regens with stupid hot EGT, now i have yet to see 1100. used to see 1300+ all the time before deletes.
tuner or not its inevitable, your DPF will plug.
good luck.

Smarty and HS now make some EPA legal tuners that allow all stock equipment to remain. But I can't see how adding power and leaving the DPF in would be a real advantage. You'd still have that unreliable, restrictive junk in there. I'd at least do the minimum and lose the DPF. Get a race tuner and let that Cummins roar! You can still find tuners with race tunes in there. I'm partial to Smarty. Also now there is Race ME. Smarty in disguise with delete tunes. Best thing I ever did was all the deletes on my '08!!!

I've gone with a bully dog triple gt which allowed me to leave all of the factory parts in the truck and I'm very happy with it performance however I don't feel that the fuel mileage has increased.
