Default Broken tail gate latch

Looking for ideas on how to unlatch my tail gate. The wife broke my tail gate latch last night. Major problem is I have a locked tonneau cover on my bed. Tri fold, no snaps. Need a way to unlatch it without damaging my truck or tonneau cover. Thanks for the ideas........

It's still plastic right? cut it out to get to the internals and unlatch it...

A dremel tool would work. Probably even a chisel and hammer if you are careful.

No problem. I hope it works for you. The worst is when you break your hood latch and have to somehow reach in there and unlatch it. Let us know how it works.

After some investigation I found a small hole under the latch handle where I could get a skinny screwdriver in to get to the innards. Easy peasy! Done and done!

That's good. I know the one in my 07 looked pretty solid. Glad you got it unlatched.
