Question Fuel pump & injectors - 2009 Ford F-250 6.4l

We purchased a BRAND NEW 2009 Ford F-250 6.4l diesel (Powerstroke I believe). One month after purchase, truck had to be towed due to it stopping on the interstate. Dealer said it was out of fuel, EVEN THOUGH THE GAS GAUGE SHOWED 40 MILES LEFT. This happened again a month later, this time the gauge saying 90 miles left.

This time, dealer wanted $12,000.00+. Said bad, contaminated fuel and water. FORD WOULD NOT COVER THIS. Injectors and fuel pump had to be replaced. Very fine black particles settled in bottom of fuel sample. One mechanic suggested that these particles were from the high-pressure pump coming apart. We did pay this out of pocket; however, FORD would not reinstate the warranty unless we spent more than this on some additional repairs, which our mechanic did not feel we needed.

However, Ford has covered some other trucks with this same problem.

Truck is now emitting white smoke intermittently when driving.

HELP! HAVE OTHERS HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM?

My Ford, also purchased new, has been blowing smoke. Dealer states "normal" not enough high speed driving, fuel being dumped into exhaust due to "Regeneration" Exhaust Cleaning. Today dealer states contaminated fuel, need to check fuel pump @ $500.00 diagnostic? Seems excessive diagnostic fee, always purchase fuel from busy stations and with only 27 gal tank, need to purchase fuel weekly. Your fix appreciated!
