Yeah I know, but at worst all they can do is give you a fix it ticket. Never admit willfully removing the thing and they have to prove you did which is next to impossible.

No emissions in Idaho, except Boise and you can still get a big fine if you get caught removing a Cat or DPF.

i would just go with a dpf that is gutted, and run a 4" pipe through it and call it good, just try and stay away from a real smokey tuner, just my thoughts though

Well because you use the truck for a business the Highway patrol can red tag your truck and the only way it can be moved is if it is on a tow truck to a repair facility....

Wrong. Its a device chosen by the manufacturer to aid in meeting the emissions limits set by foolish politicians. No vehicle is required to have a DPF, but since the manufacturer chose to use one, thats the official configuration used to certify the vehicle.

If you use a gutted DPF (or even better, a DPF with a straight pipe welded through it so it won't restrict the exhaust as an expansion chamber), they will have no way to prove its not intact without disassembling the system (impossible without a warrant).

Default DPF

I have'nt looked at the newer DPF systems ,but if you core out the DPF and insert a pipe then is there a way to re-route the fuel line back into the tank?

Would it still show the computer that regen is happening and not throw codes?

That way would it be necessary to have a tuner?

Just curious.

Tim..

TO install that kind of pipe tim you would need programmer to shut off the regen system completely. on the new ones( havent looked at them intrenally) i would think you could just cap the lines just like the dpf delete kits do...
hope that helps
