Canister Removal??

Canister Removal??
Well Stroker Mentioned Something About Removing The Emissions Related Canister To Add MPG... Then To Eliminate The Regen With My SCT??
Anyone Have Any Write Ups or Picks On This Canister? I Forgot What The D-- Was Called.
Any Help Would Be Great - I Have A Warranty, But As I Mentioned. I Know The Owner of The Dealer Personally, and I Don't Think He Would Void It On Me... As Long As This Wont Totally Destroy My Motor.
- This May Be Odd For Some To Fathom - But I Like How Quiet My Truck Is Now. Will This Change It?
Thanks Guys

i think you are referring to the DPF (Diesel particulate filter)
IIRC there is a way to delete or just fool the system that the DPF is still there, and then you can turn Regen off. Your mpgs will go up alot after doing that.
Your exhaust will get louder too, but you can add a after market exhaust with a good muffler to keep it not as loud.
But removing the DPF is illegal though....
Someone with a 6.4 or good ford tech should ring in to help out.

Well.. I Have Decided To Remove My DPF, Yet Keep The Cat.
Thanks To Luke at Diesel Dawgs - I Have Devised A Plan To Make A Flange To Be Able To Bolt My Pipe To My New Exhaust. Since The DPF Already Mounts To The Cat With A Flange, it Seem'd Perfect.
I Will Have My DPF Delete Pipe Interchangeable With My DPF.. The Program Will Be (Hopefully) On My Computer Soon.. That Way I Can Get Rid Of My Regen.
The Extra Effort Is To Hopefully NOT Void My Warranty - In The Event Of A Warranty Issue.
I Will Have Pics As Soon As I Get It All Installed.

yah, accept I'm fairly positive that the 6.4 computer sets a code with altered programming and will not clear... Jon would be best to talk to about that, but I am fairly certain that once you update the programming, Ford could and sometimes WILL void the warranty..
also, SCT released a "standard" regen delete tune I think just a couple days ago (may just be a regular tune) -- but the Govern't and Manufactures are cracking down on these things unfortunately - going after people who enable customers to defeat mandated devices..
and hopefully you never have a problem with your truck in a different location other than your buddie's dealership, cause then you could ahve some hella problems (although I am ALLLL for getting rid of that emissions crap - it boosts MPG's which helps the environment more than the ULSD soot hurts it I would think)
