Default 6.5 tps help

Ok so I'm looking for a little help or idea's. I'm working on a 94 chevy 3500hd which use to be a 6.5 turbo diesel fly by wire. Now it has a non turbo 6.5. My issue is i can't get it to go into 4th. I piggy backed the fly by wire fuel pedal to the cable one so the ecm will still get a app. I know the trans wont shift if it don't see a tps. The coolant temp sensor is new and reard fine. There is a tps on the motor now due to the fact it is a non turbo but havr no where to connect it to. I have no problem if i have to splice or what ever. just looking for some kind of direction or idea's.

Do you have a modified pedal for the mechanical injector pump? If so, you'll be needing a standalone transmission control module

im running the fly by wire for the computer and the cable off that also for the motor. it should be running the tps off that pedal. it has something to do with the ecm not seeing all the parameters because i can take a computer and tell it to shift to fourth and it will. just the truck wont by itself. if that makes sense

...... that makes it seem like it is a mechanical issue with the transmission itself. If I am understanding you correctly you have a throttle cable and a functioning APP. APP running computer and cable actually running the throttle, correct? If so that is why it isn't shifting correctly, you aren't getting enough signal from the APP to the PCM to allow it to shift. Had similar issues myself, it is tolerable but it sucks. That is why I am scraping that plan and getting the TCM.

well the thing i do know is that it couldnt be a internal trans issue. shifts fine through 3rd and like i said when driving in 3rd i can take the scan tool and shift to 4th and it goes right to 4th. so i know the computer will shift the trans and the trans will shift to 4th. just dont know what the computer needs to see to do it by itself. i cant find any info on it either

oh and yes im running the electric pedal with a cable hook up for the computer

yeah the electric pedal with the cable will not be enough to get it to shift to 4th, same issue i have here, sucks while towing or on long drives. If you find a different way let me know, but as far as I know you cannot operate our transmission with a mechanical pump and the stock PCM AND get all the gears. HOWEVER I'm a medic not a mechanic.

Unrelated, how did you bypass the engine fuel shutoff solenoid?

just pulled the electric fuel pump out hard lined that in and ran lines to the mechanical pump.

Hmmm... then how does the PCM send the signal to the glow plug relay if it is not getting any input from the shutoff solenoid?

sorry i thought you were talking electric fuel pump. the injection pump just runs ignition hot with key on. the glow plug run from the pcm to the module. you can run that right off the original harness.
