Default gear shifter

Got a 06' 350 w/ 6.0! When I put it in gear the dash shows its still in park. Goes in and out of all gears just fine but dash always show park. How can I fix this?? I figure the dash is a pain to take apart>>??

I have a manual trans, you can get the dash out by pulling it straight out a couple of inches then unplug every thing. from there on im shure its a linkage .if that helps

Look under the dash. there is a small cable with a (black) adjustment turner on it.. You can adjust it that way. If it dont move going into low gear then the cable could be broke.

It should be right on the stearing column underneath the dash.

The cable from the shifter moves the transmission lever and selects the gear. The cable has nothing to do with the orange marker on the dash moving or not. If you pull the dash off, unplug everything, there is a few bolts holding the instrument cluster on, you can pull it out of the way pretty easy and look in there and see what is going on.

I just went through all of this, my trans cable broke on my truck.
