Default wes18 ???

I have a 2005 F-250 powerstroke that just recently started blowing white smoke... It has ran hot on me 2 times and is still using coolant... I cleaned the Egr valve and it looked like **** and it still blowing white smoke... The truck is running fine now but a few weeks ago i had a rough idle, stalling out, and stalled take offs... I was wondering if i had a bad EGR cooler?

Park the truck with the rear higher than the front and then pull the EGR valve and see it it is wet in the bottom

I was told to go ahead and change oil cooler if i was gonna change the egr cooler i was wondering if this was true cause if i dont have to change the oil cooler im gonna send it back and get my $$ back. If it is true ill just installe it to why i have everything out the way??

Yes, install the Oil cooler. That is more than likely why your EGR cooler failed. You do not have to lift the cab for the repairs, but the turbo and intake manifold will have to come out.

Its all a chain reaction....most likely, and, what sounds like has happened to yours is, the oil cooler got clogged up with the casting crap left hanging around in the block, which in turn starves the egr cooler of coolant and the egr cooler cracks, warps, fails. Thats why the general public just hears about the "egr problems", if u want to fix it for good, go with the Bullet Proof oil cooler setup, delete the egr system, install a bypass coolant filter system....if funds are limited, skip the "all mighty" $2k oil system and go with a Ford full replacement oil cooler,w/updated screens, thats all u really need. Be sure to flush the heck out of the cooling system.....some will say also switch to ELC coolant, but the Ford Gold has been in mine with absolutely no issues. Be sure to pressure test your system and check to make sure your HG's havent been compromised from running "hot", hope my long winded post helps

I would also install the updated STC fitting, turbo drain tube, banjo bolts, fuel pressure regulator spring while you have everything apart.
