ok i am a cummins guy but my step dad isnt he wants to get a chip and the only thing he cares about is fuel mileage he has a bone stock 04f250 4x4 and only get 14 he wants to get 18 plus what do you guys have and recomnd and what kind of mileage are yall getting with your setups

need to get a 4" exhaust, sct programmer with custom tunes from eric at innovative diesel, cold air intake-preferably afe...main thing thats guna get you the most mpg is better aerodynamics. get a lunde cover for your truck bed. depends on how you drive too. when mine was stock i was gettin 21+ on hwy...does he have bigger tires or somethin??

I get 15mpg with my extended cab 4x4 auto. I got 15 before, I get 15 now. I dont know anyone that gets even close to 20mpg with one of these. They're heavy trucks.

A 2x4 manual truck might be a bit better.

He can try a custom tuned SCT, but honestly I wouldn't buy it with the intention of getting better mileage, because it doesn't always happen. Whatever you decide, dont buy any of the economy tunes, they're a waste of money, the high horsepower tunes yield better gains.

ok powerstroke guys were you at my step dad has 285/75/16 tires its a long bed f-250 4x4 what should he go with for the fuel mileage just need to be put in the right direction i am hearing alot of diffrent stuff between the sct and the edge with additude please give me advise

Get a custom tuned SCT, leave the OEM filter in place and post up the results.

I get 16 to 17 driving like a bat out of hell. I can get 20+ all day long if I pretend there is an egg under the skinny pedal. Straight pipe it if you can and get the sct its the only way to go.

Regardless of mileage, SCT > Edge.

i can get 19-20 on level ground with an afe banks pda and straight pipe exhuast 33inch tires. thats with cruise on of course.

SCT, 4" or 5" Exhaust, Synthetic Fluids, Intake System and keep it under 65mph.
