Default 2005 6.0 PS turbo/warranty issue

My truck has been smoking white at idle for about 2 months. I keep an eye on the water level and it doesn't change and I assume it is diesel or oil burning. So I bring my truck to the jackass dealership by my house and they call me after 2 days and tell me that they just looked at it and my aftermarket intake and 4" exhaust caused my turbo seals to fail resulting in oil leaking into the turbo. Has anyone ever heard of this before? I thought that it would make it run cooler thus better for the turbo. Regardless, the bastards at the dealership say that my warranty is void because of this. Does anyone know what I can do to dispute this? Also, if there is nothing I can do, rather than spend the $3000.00 they want to fix it, I figure I'll get an aftermarket turbo. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I had the same symptoms on my truck and it was the EGR cooler that took a dive. As for what you can do: Try another Dealership, but it is looking more and more like if they can find any mods done to your engine, well "game over". I think you can find a good Turbo replacement cheaper then 3k. It wouldn't be that hard to do it yourself. Just invite a buddy over and buy a six pack and in a couple of hours you're done and happy too. I think I would get a 2nd opinion on the Turbo problem first, before you go out and start spending. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, I spoke with the manufacturer of the exhaust and he said that he never heard of that in 40 years. He also spoke with a mechanic he knows at a Ford dealership and the mechanic said it sounds like they are trying to blow me off. I have another, larger dealer I am going to take it to. If that fails, I know of a spectacular diesel performance shop that I will take it to for a spectacular new turbo... thanks for your .02. Much appreciated.

most likely it is not your turbo, like a previous person said it is probably your egr valve leaking it happens to these engines all the time
